Hyderabad: A Hyderabad resident, who was working in Malaysia, was arrested from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on his arrival on Saturday morning. A red corner notice was issued against the accused for deceiving job aspirants by collecting huge amounts.

The Rein Bazaar police said the accused Mohammed Muben Shahed, hailing from Tolichowki, had worked in Malaysia for some time. Through some mutual friends, some job aspirants came in contact with Muben and asked his advice about getting jobs in Malaysia.

Taking advantage of the innocence of the aspirants, Muben told them that he had good relations with many companies in Malaysia and could help them get jobs easily. He collected about Rs 2 lakh from each aspirant on pretext of arranging VISA, accommodation and other facilities.

In 2015, about 15 job aspirants from Hyderabad deposited money in Muben’s account. One of the victims, Hameed Muzafar Hussain, went to Malaysia. When he tried to contact Muben, his mobile phone was switched off. After making tiring efforts for three months, the victim approached the Indian Embassy in Malaysia which helped him come back home.

The victim faced punishment for staying illegally in Malaysia. The Malaysian police also booked a case against Muben and a red corner notice was issued against him and a case was also registered against him at Rein Bazaar police station. On Saturday at around 4 am, Muben was apprehended when he arrived at RGIA in a flight from Malaysia. The accused was arrested and sent to judicial remand.
