Hyderabad: The sleuths of the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Cyberabad raided a private godown and nabbed two persons who have been illegally procuring diesel from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation dumping vehicles and selling it to public.

On a tip-off, the sleuths raided the premises at Malkajgiri and found two persons who were about to transport an auto trolley loaded with four diesel drums. About 750 litres of diesel which was loaded in the four drums and was about to be sold at a market in Bandlaguda village in Keesara police station limits, was seized.

The SOT officials said auto driver T Vikram Singh and his assistant P Vishal have been apprehended while nine others, including the prime accused Palle Janardhan Goud (52) of Bandlaguda, are absconding.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that Janardhan Goud used to procure diesel from about 100 to 150 GHMC dumping vehicles between 1 am and 6 am daily.

He would buy 25 to 30 litres diesel from each vehicle at Rs 43 per litre and sell the same for about Rs 50 at Bandlaguda market and also at other markets in Warangal, Medak and Nalgonda districts,” said SOT Additional DCP E Ramchandra Reddy.

He also said that the prime accused was earlier arrested by the Kushaiguda police for a similar offence but he continued to commit the same offence. Efforts were on to nab all the accused involved in the case, he added.
