Hyderabad: Cyberabad police cracked the sensational case of murder of 47-year-old city-based advocate that happened on Sunday. The police have arrested two persons hailing from Bapatla of Guntur for setting the advocate ablaze.
On Sunday, A Uday Kumar, advocate from Kushaiguda was found burnt in his car in the outskirts of Keesara. The deceased’s wife Jagadeeshwari who was called to the spot recognised that it was her husband’s car, but could not identify the body, as it was completely burnt to ashes.
During investigation, it was found that the deceased had a dispute over a land at Jawahar Nagar. The land was given to his father and ex-servicemen Nakuludu by the Government of India. The five acres land is valued about Rs 1 crore in the market value, but Nakuludu sold it to one D Lokesh Babu (22) of Bapatla for Rs 25 lakh, without Uday’s knowledge.
This led to a dispute between Uday and Lokesh. Though Uday’s father did not want to aggravate the issue, Uday never compromised.Worried that Uday, an advocate may cause trouble in future, Lokesh planned to eliminate him and sought help of his friend Suman Reddy (23), who also hails from Bapatla, said Malkajgiri in-charge DCP E Ramachandra Reddy during a press conference on Monday.
The duo on Saturday kidnapped the accused while he was returning home. Lokesh hacked Uday’s neck and killed him. To dispose the body, Suman assisted him to take the car to Keesara outskirts, but as Lokesh wanted to burn the body, Suman backed out and went home. “Uday went to a petrol pump and bought five litres of petrol in a can. He spilled it over the car and burnt it keeping Uday’s body inside.
Meanwhile, Lokesh also sustained burn injuries on his chest and hands. He was immediately rushed to a nearby clinic for first aid and was then admitted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment,” said the officer. Suman was picked from his home in Jawahar Nagar on Monday morning and based on his confession he was arrested and remanded, while Lokesh who is undergoing treatment would be arrested after discharge, the officer added.
