Two rapes shock city residents

Hyderabad: A 16-year-old girl is battling for life at Osmania General Hospital after an auto driver and his friend raped her and forced her to consume pesticides, while in another incident a 10-year-old girl was raped and murdered by a habitual offender.
The first incident was reported from Satamrai near Shamshabad while the other incident was reported from Bollarum in the twin police commissionerate limits.

Police said that the teenage girl was kidnapped by auto driver Jangaiah and his friend near her house Rajiv Gruhakalpa and gang raped. Later, the accused forced her to consume pesticides. The girl was rushed to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) for treatment and her condition is stated to be critical.

According to police, Jangaiah, who supplies drinking water cans to residents in an auto trolley, forcibly pushed the girl into the auto at Rajiv Gruhakalpa and drove away. The girl’s father lodged a complaint with the RGIA police on Saturday night.

On Sunday morning, some shepherds saw the girl lying in an unconscious state and a boy lying next to her in a drunken state and informed the police.

The police rushed to the spot and shifted the girl to the OGH for treatment and took into custody the boy, who is the friend of auto driver Jangaiah. A search is on for Jangaiah.

A case has been registered by the RGIA police under The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) 2012.
In the other incident, a 10-year-old girl was found dead along the railway track near Ammuguda railway station.

According to the Bollarum police, Ramakrishna, a painter along with his wife, had lodged a missing complaint with the police on Saturday midnight after searching in vain to locate their 10-year-old daughter.

Enquiries by the police revealed that the mother had visited the local toddy shop, taking her daughter along, on Saturday night.
During the investigation, police found out that a habitual offender named C Anil Kumar (28) was last seen sitting along with the 10-year-old girl at the toddy shop. On Sunday morning, the police received information about the body of a girl lying along the railway track near Ammuguda railway station.

Anil was released from Narsapur prison on Friday. He came to city on Saturday and went to the toddy shop in Kalasiguda at night. There, he saw the girl and lured her on the pretext of buying chocolates and took her to an isolated place behind the EME headquarters and raped her.

He then throttled her and smashed her head with a boulder,” the Bollarum police said.The police said Anil Kumar, a resident of Kalasiguda, was a habitual offender and was involved in several cases of bodily offences, including 15 cases in Alwal and a rape and murder case in Medak district.

The police said CC camera footage has been recovered from the shop and a manhunt has been launched to nab Anil.
The girl’s parents and relatives were shattered on learning about the heinous incident. The deceased girl’s relatives staged a protest in front of the Bollarum police station demanding action against the accused.

In yet another incident at Shaikpet, the body of an unknown woman was recovered by the Golconda police from near Shaikpet nala on Sunday afternoon. The police said that the woman was raped and killed. A case has been registered and further probe is on.
