Bengaluru: A seven-year-old studying in the second standard endured a brutal beating from her private tuition teacher for not completing her homework. The girl, Bhavana, a student of St. Joseph School on Tuesday had gone to study at her private tuition class run by Latha, a resident of Subhash Nagar in Nelamangala.

However, the girl was beaten badly after she forgot to complete her homework. Bhavana rushed back home to her parents, who filed a complaint with the Nelmangala police. A case has been filed against the tuition teacher under Sections 324, 504 of IPC and Juvenile Justice Act 82.

An investigating officer informed that it is not the first time the complaint is being heard against the teacher as she had beaten many students earlier, who were weak in their studies but the parents kept blaming their kids thinking the teacher was right in her methods.

The police stated that no one had come forward to lodge a complaint although the parents raised the issue after seeing injury marks on their children. Now, that a complaint has been received against the teacher, she has been booked under various sections of IPC including a Justice Juvenile Act 82, added the police officials.
