Hyderabad: The Task Force police on Thursday apprehended three students for selling LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide) drug to the consumers, and seized 32 stamps of contraband from their possession.
The accused were identified as Saad Mohammed, 21 and Mohd Mubeenuddin, 21, both residents of Bowenpally and Nikhil Roach, 20, resident of Bhoiguda. While the police were able to nab these three students, Prateek Bijjam, a resident of Madhapur, still at large.
According to police, when Saad was in pursuing intermediate studies he got habituated to consume Ganja with one of his friends. Later, he started consuming LSD blots and Charas. He regularly visited Goa and Kasol, Himachal Pradesh for getting the contraband and later started business of selling the same.
His friend Mubeenuddin accompanied him in selling the LSD blots in Hyderabad for higher rates. Regularly, they used to visit Goa to purchase LSD blots from an unidentified person for Rs 500 per LSD blot (stamp) and used to sell the same in Hyderabad for Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,700 each.
In this process, they came into contact with Nikhil Roach who earlier purchased LSD blots from them and developed friendship. Roach suggested them to sell the LSD blots at a higher price in the city. Saad regularly kept in touch with the other two accomplices and prospects via social media.
“LSD is also known as lysergide and colloquially as acid, is a psychedelic drug of the ergoline family, well-known for its psychological effects—which can include altered thinking processes, closed and open-eye visuals, synesthesia, an altered sense of time, and spiritual experiences. It is mainly used as an entheogen and recreational drug and mainly used in psychedelic parties.
However, acute adverse psychiatric reactions such as anxiety, paranoia and delusions are possible. The selling price is in the range of Rs 1,700 to Rs 2,000 per stamp depending upon client and their urgency,” said B Limba Reddy, DCP Task Force.
