Warangal: The menace of chain snatching has revisited the city on Monday on which two lonely women were targeted by chain snatchers.

In an incident at Vijaya Colony in Hanamkonda, thieves have stolen a gold chain, weighing 35 grams from a 65-year-old woman identified as Ahalya, while she was walking alone in the street.

In another incident at Shanthinagar Colony in Warangal, chain snatchers targetted another woman called Rajyalakshmi who was walking on a secluded road and ran away with her 40 grams gold chain.

The woman was said to have arrived here from Narsampet to visit her daughter in the colony. Warangal ACP Chaitanya Kumar visited the spot and interacted with the victim.

The police said they were checking the CCTV footage in the surrounding areas to identify the culprits.

The last incident of chain snatching under Warangal commissionerate took place March 11, 2016, according to the sources.
