World Heritage Day observed Rajahmundry: Renewed Sanskrit scholar Maha Mahopadyaya Viswanatha Gopala Krishna called upon the public to encourage and protect the cultural heritage of our nation. Speaking on the occasion of World Heritage Day, which was organised by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan at Anam Kala Kendram in Rajahmundry on Thursday, he said that our country has rich cultural heritage that has to be preserved for the GenNext. He further stated that education system based on Vedic dharma and Sanskrit has immense value. M Francis, Assistant Director, State Information Centre,Rajahmundry , said that the fundamental values based on Indian culture and heritage have to be protected. The study of historical monuments will help the students to improve their knowledge in history. He also suggested the students to follow the foot prints of great stalwarts, who fought for the nation's development. GS Negi,Dean of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, said that heritage walk was proposed to the students of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan to create awareness on Indian culture and heritage, he said. The Science Centre would be established at Rajahmundry with the cooperation of municipal corporation, he said.VSS Krishna Kumar,a journalist, narrated about the various historical places to the students .Dr A Narayana Rao, Telugu scholar, P Raghunath ,JS Siva Kumar vice principal of the institution, attended the programme.
