Centre for Comparative Literature in collaboration with Sahitya Akademi is organising a three day national seminar on “Multilingualism and the Literary Culture of India” at Humanities Auditorium, University of Hyderabad from March 27 to March 29.

Eminent academician Prof. Harish Trivedi inaugurated the seminar and said that language has multiplicity and plurality and we should value it. Moreover he posed questions to the audience such as who is Multilingual? Following the Key-note address was given by Prof. Amiya Dev, a comparatist.
Prof. E Haribabu, pro vice-chancellor of the University of Hyderabad was the guest of honour and welcomed all the academicians and scholars for the three day seminar on behalf of university. Vote of Thanks was proposed by Prof. Amitabha Das Gupta, dean, school of humanities. He mentioned that the inaugural session itself was very challenging and it poses questions and controversies on Multilingualism to be addressed.
He hoped that the challenges will be addressed in the coming sessions of the seminar. The seminar will continue tomorrow and day after. There is also a play tomorrow evening at the DST auditorium in campus.
