Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has on Saturday cleared the file related to setting up of a separate Intermediate Board for the newly-carved State.
The AP Reorganization Act 2014 has laid down that the two successor States of AP and Telangana should continue with common examinations and common admissions at the level of higher educational institutions for a period of ten years.
It may be recalled that Minister for Education, G Jagadeesh Reddy had raised the issue of bifurcation of the Intermediate Board during a departmental review on Thursday. It was said then that a decision on bifurcation would emerge only after the meeting of Jagadeesh Reddy with his AP counterpart Ganta Srinivasa Rao.
KCR had signed on the file related to the formation of Telangana Intermediate Board during his visit to the National Academy of Construction. It is understood that the government of Telangana will adopt the AP Intermediate Board Act for the purpose of creating the Telangana Board. It is believed that the government will issue the related GO shortly.
Some students have expressed pleasure over the formation of Telangana Intermediate Board. They claimed that the controversy over Intermediate exams had blown off with the creation of a separate board.
