Hyderabad: While highest deaths in our country after road accidents is due to suicides and the reason for it is depression in relationships, the ‘You & Me’ institute has been organising an awareness programme to prevent such actions. The organisation has been organising ‘Teenage Temptations’ in different colleges across the city like Brilliant Engineering College, Anurag Group of Institutions, AMS College of Education from October, to make students aware of their feelings and help combat hard times.

Initiated by psychologist Dr C Veerender, the programme aims to make students aware of their feelings. “We want the teen to be aware and differentiate between friendship, attraction and love. Most teens take these feelings as the same and end up getting hurt and depressed. They plan to commit suicide and do not open-up,” said Dr C Veerender.

The organisation holds a neutral stand when it comes to clashes between parents and children.

“In most cases, parents fail to understand their children. This is where we come into the picture and hold counseling sessions for children and parents. We make sure both are on common platform mentally and understand each other before arriving at any conclusion,” Veerender added.

You & Me has been conducting such programmes for the past eight years and this year’s edition will be on till November 13.
