Hyderabad: Advanced Placement Programme, introduced three years ago by College Board, a non-profit organization, can be taken by a student pursuing plus one and plus two, through which he can earn 20 out of the 120 credits required to graduate from a foreign university. “Through this programme, one who is keen on studying abroad can take additional courses and get credits for them. For example, if one requires 120 credits to graduate from a university, one can obtain 20 credits through this programme, while in plus one and two. So one would need only 100 credits, which can be gotten in three or three and half years of graduate studies abroad,” informed Lisa Jain, India representative, College Board.

The AP programme offers 22 courses and the exam is conducted in May of every year. Registrations for these exams start in the month of February and the fee stands at Rs 8,900 per student. This time around the exam will be held at Chirec International School, Madhapur.
