Hyderabad: Thomas Cook Travel Quest - India’s first national travel quiz for school students conducted its City Finals on Monday at Hyderabad. Teja Vidyalaya, Nalgonda, emerged as winner and will participate in South Zonal Finals. Giri ‘Pickbrain’ was the quizmaster for the competition.
Following an extensive School Outreach programme that covered over 65 educational institutions across Hyderabad, school level preliminary written tests were conducted and five teams were selected to compete for the Hyderabad City Finals. Over 25,000 students from 60 schools across Hyderabad participated in the Thomas Cook Travel Quest quiz, with more than 450 students qualifying for the Hyderabad City Finals.
The winning students of the Hyderabad City Finals will be hosted by Singapore Tourism Board for a fun and learn experiential study tour to Singapore. Madhavan Menon, Managing Director, Thomas Cook (India) Ltd. said, “Travel is indeed the best teacher and the engaging platform of our travel quiz sets out to promote experiential learning- vital for today’s Indian students. Our quiz platform is our contribution to encouraging schools, parents and young India to look beyond the classroom and conventional methods of learning.”
