Team Pi-Ninjas from Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSoM) IIT-Kharagpur (IIT-K) won Triveni case challenge at IIT-K Business Festival Purvodaya. Team BumbleBees from Masters Programme in Human Resource Management (MHRM), also IIT Kharagpur was the first runner up. Team Kshatriyas from NITIE Mumbai was second runner up.

Kharagpur: Team Pi-Ninjas from Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSoM) IIT-Kharagpur (IIT-K) won Triveni case challenge at IIT-K Business Festival Purvodaya. Team BumbleBees from Masters Programme in Human Resource Management (MHRM), also IIT Kharagpur was the first runner up. Team Kshatriyas from NITIE Mumbai was second runner up.

The contest tested the innovative skills of students through a business review of a real world-like situation of a fictitious saree manufacturing organisation – SSM, having them also propose a course of action. The contest started with applications wherein 65 teams applied and took a quiz real-time on January 27.

About 35 shortlisted teams from the quiz were shared the case study. A total of five finalist teams from IIT Kharagpur, SIBM Pune and NITIE Mumbai were selected for final submissions recently at IIT Kharagpur. The final presentations were co-judged by Prof Ashutosh Sarkar of IIT Kharagpur & Arvind Saraf, Director, Triveni.

Arvind Saraf, Director, Triveni said “This contest has given an opportunity to showcase interests and skills in developing textile sector. We already have two student ambassadors at IIT Kharagpur. This association takes our IIT Kharagpur engagement to next level, laying the platform for more contests on Operations, Marketing & Advertising.”

Subham Das student from winning team said “Triveni case challenge was a great learning experience for us. It covered so many aspects of finance and operation. We had to do a lot of secondary market research and come up with innovative strategies which would ultimately reduce the excess inventory of the company.”
