A talk session which had delegates from different fields discussed on the topic whether "creativity can stop violence and bring peace in society" at the 19th International Children's Film Festival of India (ICFFI) at IMAX.
One of the delegates Major Ashok Kaul said: Creativity starts with the birth of a child, who cries to get the attention of the mother. When grandmothers tell stories to their grandchildren children bring out their thought process or they start imagining. This is nothing but creativity.
'Chak De' actress Shilpa Shukla, who played the role of Bindia Naik was also there at the dicussion and says, “I was poor in academics. For me, it was a sudden jump into ‘school theatre’ and which took me to a new level of acting. Its all about being free and a zeal to explore.”
Prof. Raghunath from IIM Bangalore spoke about the course on ‘unleashing Creativity’ and how the same could be put into operation at a younger age.
Chaitanya Chinchilkar, Chartered Accountant and is currently Associate producer with Groove Temple Entertainment in Mumbai spoke about how efforts have been made to bring in the subject of ‘Media Studies’ at a very young age for school children and introducing it in more than 700 CBSE schools in India.
All speakers including Festival Director of ICFFI, Dr. Shravan Kumar, Ashish Kulkarni, Dreamforest Films, directors Sanjiv Waeerkar and Harry Baweja also stressed on the need to catch and nurture creativity at a young age and expressed hope that the young minds are equally supported in this endeavour by their parents.
