​Tirupati: The Director cum Vice Chancellor of SVIMS Dr TS Ravikumar congratulated three Professors of the Institute who received ‘State Best Teacher Award’ on the occasion of Teachers Day celebrations held at Mangalagiri on September 5.
The head of Department of Nephrology Prof Ram, Head of Surgical Oncology department Prof H Narendra, Professor of Department of Endocrinology Dr Suresh have received the awards from the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
While congratulating them the Director Dr TS Ravikumar informed that SVIMS has been introducing several innovations in medical education. These include: early clinical exposure to undergraduate students with integrated learning, case base learning at all levels, root cause analysis of complications with ultimate goal of patient safety.
SVIMS has been moving towards competency-based curriculum and also will champion skill-based training to close ‘know-do’ gap. These awardees will utilise the concepts of evidence informed practice derived from evidence-based medicine at all levels of learning from undergraduate to super specialty students.
