Swatcha Godavari jala samrakshana yatra

Godavari River will have nearly 10 crore people visiting during the coming pushkaram time. So to educate people about not polluting with bad habits and plastic waste, Sri. Arepalli Shiva Shankar of I Go Green Foundation started a cycle yatra along the Godavari belt. The route will be from Hyderabad to Basara, Dharmapuri, Ramagundam, Kaleswaram, Bhadrachalam, Rajahmundry and Antharwedi.

“Organisations like Rotary, RSR foundations, Eco Club Bhadradri and Cycling clubs in various towns will join locally to encourage the tour and spread awareness” – said jayaprakash nambaru, founder, IGoGreen.

Activities in every place will be :

Plantation, Group Cycling, Addressing school children, Addressing at Bus Stations, distributing pamphlets, visit toGodavari and temples and spreading awareness.

On 12th October, the Swachcha Godavari –Yatra started at Miyapur, Sai DattaColony, Hyderabad amidst the encouragement from colony residents. People planted in the colony surroundings as part of the air purification through plants. Rotary Club of Greater Hyderabad gifted the Special Portable water filter from SAWYERS to Sri Shiva Shankar.

CHIEF GUEST Hon. MLA Sri. Arekapudi Gandhi, Inaugurated the Yatra and welcomed more people to join him enroute. Presidents of apartments and colony wished for a successful tour.

Guests of Honour, Lt. Col. Sridhar from Atlanta Foundation, gave Technical inputs to carry on the yatra successfully and offered support anytime required. Presidents of the colony and apartments gave a warm send off and encouraged joyfully.
