IMD has revised its prediction of the Southwest Monsoon’s arrival in Andhra Pradesh and the new prediction states that the monsoon will reach AP in the coming two to three days.

The monsoon reached Kerala four days ago and covered Goa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and parts of Maharashtra. IMD has said that even with the favourable conditions, the monsoon’s progress has been slow. Meteorologists’ earlier predictions informed that the Southwest Monsoon would reach Telangana by June 10-12 but with its arrival in AP expected to be on June 12, the monsoon will reach Telangana even later.

However, the pre-monsoon showers in most parts of Telangana and AP have kept the temperatures under control with the maximum temperature recorded in Hyderabad was at 36.5ºC on Tuesday. Maximum temperature recorded in Andhra Pradesh stood at 39ºC in Kurnool and 40ºC in Ramagundam, Telangana.
