The Hans India Celebrates Second Anniversary

The Hans India celebrated its second anniversary at a glittering function here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion K Vaman Rao, chairman of the Hyderabad Media House and the Kapil Group, commended the efforts put in by all those associated with the Hyderabad Media House � promoter of the daily, for their hard work and performance.

He congratulated the editorial staff and marketing team for the acceptability and credibility gained by the daily in just two years. "Other newspapers too began to focus more on the local coverage ever since The Hans India appeared on the stands giving adequate coverage to local issues in the state. It should be viewed as the first step in ascending the success ladder," he said.

The Hans India and HMTV Editor-in-Chief, K Ramachandra Murthy said in his address that the daily earned laurels as one of the most trusted newspapers in the state in a short period. The daily launched Young Hans, dedicating three pages daily for education and youth affairs. Its tabloid, Hyderabad Hans, also proved to be a success. Stating that the tabloids would also be launched soon in Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada, he said that the experiments and innovations were intended to reach out to more of the targeted readers in the coming days, by giving due coverage to social issues at a time when most of the English dailies were increasingly opting for Page 3 journalism. He said the daily had emerged as voice of the common man.

The Hans India Editor, PNV Nair said "We have done a fairly good job in the last two years. The extensive coverage of social issues � fluoride problems being experienced in Nalgonda district, farmer suicides and the former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao's memorial lecture delivered by the President Pranab Mukherjee in Hyderabad, were among some of the important highlights in its coverage."

Kapil Group Director Sunil Rao, Senior General Manager Finance, K Hanumantha Rao and HMTV Output Editor, I Satyanarayana also spoke on the occasion.
