Renowned vocalist Dr Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna inaugurated DHI Artspace, a new forum and resource centre dedicated to visual arts, at Ameerpet on Sunday. The event was attended by PM Bhargava, former director, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB); Chandana Chakravarthi; K Siva Prasad, vigil wizard; M Kishan Rao and other art enthusiasts. DHI Artspace was conceived as an art forum and resource centre for artists, art researchers and all art enthusiasts. The centre will be housing a spacious art gallery, a small library, a digital resource centre along with a print making facility.

The facility was founded by Bhargavi Gundala, a post-graduate from the fine arts department of University of Hyderabad. “The Artspace will be a one point platform for artists, art researchers and all other art related activity. The DHI Artspace plans to host exciting and stimulating art discussions, lectures, film screenings and performances on a regular basis,” Bhargavi Gundala said.

The exhibition showcasing artworks of three young artists – Prasad KP, Kundan Mondal and Rakesh Roy Chaudhary – from Baroda, titled ‘Real and Imagined Spaces’, will be on view till November 15.
