Laila Nutraceuticals Research and Development Centre, Vijayawada, a part of Laila group of companies founded by Dr G Ganga Raju, was certified as Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) compliant. It is the first test facility to be GLP certified in the State. The GLP certificate enables ready acceptability of data generated at Laila Nutraceuticals GLP Laboratory across 34 member-countries of the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) and other nations as well.

Y Sujana Chowdary, Union Minister of State for science and technology, handed over the GLP certificate to Dr G Ganga Raju at the Ministry of Earth Sciences office in New Delhi on Thursday.

GLP is a quality system concerned with the organisational process and conditions under which non-clinical health and environmental safety studies are performed. National GLP Compliance Monitoring Authority (NGCMA) provides GLP certification to the test facilities involved in conducting safety studies on chemicals, pharmaceuticals, veterinary drugs, pesticides, cosmetic products, food products, feed additives, etc., in accordance with OECD principles.

India is a full adherent to OECD council act related to Mutual Acceptance of Data. As a result, the data generated by the GLP certified test facilities in India are acceptable in 34 member-countries of the OECD and other nations.

Laila Nutraceuticals’ R&D centre underwent two thorough inspections by NGCMA to get GLP certified. The R&D centre is equipped with the best of equipment and run by a world class team of experienced scientists.
