The 29th All India Railway Bodybuilding Championship for Men held at Railway Sports Complex concluded on Thursday.South Central Railway Sports Association (SCRSA) played the host for the championships, organised under the auspices of Railway Sports Promotion Board, New Delhi, after a span of 26 years at Secunderabad. PK Srivastava, general manager, South Central Railway, was the chief guest on the concluding day.
South Eastern Railway showed its dominance by clinching the overall championship title, nudging the competing zones behind. Yet another feather to the cap for the zone was when Rahul Bisht, the winner in 90 kgs category, was adjudged the ‘Champion of Champions’ for his brilliant performance and display. A total of 100 body builders of national and international level representing 12 Railway Zones competed in ten weight categories for the championship.
The event also facilitated the Indian Railway Body Building panel to select a team to represent Indian Railways for the forthcoming Senior National Body Building Championship to be held at Gandhidham, Gujarat, in the last week of February.
