Women from the Rajahmundry NGOs Association held celebrations ahead of International Women’s Day and employees of all ranks took part in the various competitions held at Subrahmunyam Maidan in Rajahmundry on Friday.

Chief guest of the event, ICDS project officer Sarada Sampat Kumari lauded the women employees for performing both the duties of a homemaker as well as an employee. “Women play a very crucial role in educating the children as well as in building a healthy society,” Sarada observed.

Tug of war, rangoli, running race, throw ball, singing, musical chairs, lemon and spoon and skipping were some of the events held for women. The colourful festival of Holi added to the joy. Geddada Hari Babu, APNGO president, Rajahmundry unit, distributed prizes to the winners of the competitions.APNGO leaders BPH Johnson, PSMG Vidyasagar, YV Narayana, CH Srinivasa Rao and women leaders Ch Phanisri, V Kamala, P Mangathayaru, AR Sireesha and others were present at the event.
