Zinda Talisman is a 10-minute piece that combines stage, film and sound tied together by the story of a young girl who goes to the busy markets of Charminar with her mother and gets spellbound by a magical object. To get back to reality, she must answer only one question "Batao! Kya Seekha?"


The play was staged by Hyderabad Children’s Theatre Festival at Lalit Kala Thoranam recently. Seen from the eyes of a young girl, this production weaves this fantastical tale by employing all kinds of film-wizardry and stage-trickery like a silent film that depicts Hyderabadi anecdotal stories like Nawab Afzal-Ud-Daula and his fascination for ‘Ghee Ke Laddoos’.


With a fantastic silver box that cuts through time, space and mediums, the protagonist Chutki hears/sees the beautifully crafted animation of Baba Sharfuddin's journey from Baghdad to Pahad-e-Sharief. Throughout her journey, Chutki is led by the guiding voice of Dabir animated to spellbinding graphics, who loves telling tall tales and hopes that Chutki will learn to understand and understand to learn. The play was written and directed by Faraz Khan and co-directed by Vaishali Bisht.
