School buses to get fitness certificates

The Deputy Transport Commissioner (DTC) S Venkateswara Rao on Monday instructed the educational institutions in Krishna district to get fitness certificates for all their buses without fail. He said that the department would seize vehicles that fail to produce the certificates.

He further asked the educational institutions to give the details of the drivers to be computerised in the department for future use. The DTC also cautioned the drivers of all educational institutions to be careful while using some of the roads during the rainy season.

“We have identified routes such as Avanigadda-Koduru, Avanigadda - Nagayalanka, Koduru - Nagayalanka via Bhavadevarapalli, Bantumilli - Kruthivennu, Bandaru - Lankapalli, Puligadda - Avanigadda, Vijayawada - Gudivada and Ryves Canal Road as most dangerous during the rainy season. It is better that the drivers keep safe and ensure safety for all,” Venkateswara Rao observed.

Venkateswara Rao sought to advise the teachers, parents and some important persons of the managements to travel in the school buses often to keep a watch on the drivers. He asked the educational institutions to keep at least one teacher in every bus on the routes which are identified as dangerous during the rainy season.
