Gandhi Hospital nurses demand job regularisation

Nurses on contract at the Gandhi Hospital staged a dharna on Tuesday demanding regularisation of services on par with the Pay Revision Commission of Telangana State. There are more than 210 nurses working on contract basis for the last 10 years at the hospital and get paid Rs 12,000 per month.

The KCR government promised to regularise all the contract employees at the hospital on par with other government nurses and hike their salary. A Narasimhulu, general secretary, All India Trade Union Congress, Greater Hyderabad Zone, said,

“Our previous requests have gone in vain. If our demands are not met, we will go on an indifferent strike from June 29.”T Venkatesh, CITU secretary of Hyderabd City, said, “All the political parties and labour unions expressed their solidarity and support for our indefinite strike.”
