Rashtrapati Nilayam at Bolaram was thrown open to public on Sunday but people have still not warmed up to the idea of visiting the President’s House originally known as Residency House, now the official retreat of the President of India. Till Wednesday, only 2,660 people visited Rashtrapati Nilayam. It was constructed in 1860 by Nizam Nazir-ud-dowla.

The new addition, Nakshatra Vatika which was inaugurated by President Pranab Mukerjee on July 6 during his stay too has not caught the imagination of people. Officials of Rashtrapati Nilayam said that there are unique plants some with medicinal value at the garden. Nakshatra Vatika is spread over in 1.2 acres.
