The Golconda Fort was teeming with devotees on Sunday on the first day of Ashada Jatara Bonalu. The fort reverberated with the chants of Goddess Maisamma. Women carried ‘Bonam’ (a pot carrying rice, turmeric powder, jaggery and curd, and covered with neem leaves and a lamp placed on it) on their heads and offered it to the Goddess.

There were many processions by devotees who carried ghatams. Potharajus accompanied the devotees and danced to the ‘teen maar’ beats. Necessary arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of events. avoid traffic jams.
