Call it indifference or care a damn attitude, whatever is the case, officials at the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) seem to be closing their eyes to problems and not entertaining citizen’s grievances. People from different wards have been complaining of not receiving water supply but authorities seem uninterested.

Only two out of 62 complaints have been solved in the past few months, all related to drinking water. Residents of Rasoolpura, Tirumulgherry and Begumpet complain that not a single official visited their slums.

In Rasoolpura one complaint out of 24 registered ones was looked into, where as in Begumpet not a single complaint was addressed and only one complaint was solved out of 27 in Tirumalgherry.

Ali, a resident of Rasoolpura says, “We have been trying to seek an appointment with the SCB CEO Sujatha Gupta for over three years but to no avail. When we go to the office, the supervisors are never in their seats. No one is taking responsibility.”

When contacted, SCB officials said that the official visiting hours are 3 pm to 5 pm on Tuesday and Thursday and the CEO is always available, whenever she is in the city.
