Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has directed the Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma to prepare a district- wise “fact sheet” on the implementation of welfare and developmental programmes. The report is intended to help to earmark required funds to every district in the budget.
Official sources said it is the first time that the Chief Secretary is holding review meetings in all district headquarters to analyse the functioning of the district administration and utilisation of funds at grass
roots level.
The review meeting will focus attention on Mission Kakatiya, Mission Baghiratha, status on irrigation projects, medical, road and infrastructure development schemes, loan waiver scheme and other welfare programmes like Kalyana Laxmi, Shadi Mubarak, functioning of social welfare and residential schools for BC, SC, ST and minority communities.
Rajiv Sharma already held a meeting with the officials of Warangal and Nalgonda districts recently. He will visit all the districts and review the implementation of schemes with his subordinates. “The Chief Secretary is analysing the first-hand information furnished by the district authorities which will be useful for the government to earmark funds for scheme specific in every district in the new budget,: a top official told The Hans India.
It may be mentioned here that the Chief Minister recently announced that budget would be earmarked district-wise depending on the requirement of funds to each scheme by replacing the existing practice of giving funds department-wise.
Sources said that the grass roots level report being prepared by Rajiv Sharma will be also used to understand the developments that took place in each district and find lacunae, if any, in reaching the goals set by the government. Based on the reports, special attention will be paid for the elimination of backwardness in the districts.
Officials said that Rajiv Sharma, who already wrapped up meeting with all Heads of Department to finalise budget allocations, will also make some important suggestions on the need for the holistic development of the districts in the “confidential report” to be presented the Chief Minister.
