Hyderabad: Paradoxical it sounds, but the most popular leaders of the two Telugu States Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu were conspicuous with their absence in their respective polling booths to exercise their franchise in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.

The two Chief Ministers, who wooed the voters through their hectic schedule of campaigning, could not cast their votes in the civic polls that recorded a low percentage of voters on Tuesday. However, family members of Chandrashekar Rao and Naidu cast their votes at the allotted booths.

Though the two leaders pressed their party men and cadre for the electioneering that went on for two weeks till the final day of campaigning, Chandrashekar Rao and his arch rival Naidu could not cast their votes as they had no voting right in the GHMC area.

According to the information, the two Chief Ministers have the right of voting at their respective home districts of Medak and Chittoor. IT Minister KT Rama Rao and his wife cast their votes and asked the people to cast their votes. Similarly, Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneshwari, son Nara Lokesh and his wife Brahmani cast votes at the booths allotted.
