Hyderabad: Bala Vikasa, a non-profit organisation, which is promoting the community development works will be celebrating silver jubilee celebrations on February 9. Addressing the media Thursday, Bala Vikasa, founder, Bala Teresa said as many as 15,000 members would attend celebrations to be held at LB Stadium.

The organisers of the event said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, several MPs and MLAs of Telugu speaking states would take part in the celebrations. Speaking about the community developmental work, Teresa said that the organisation had built 440 overhead tanks and laid water pipelines directly into homes.

It helped 5 lakh people secure potable water, he said. “Around 6,350 bore wells were constructed with manually-operated hand pumps in 3,750 villages benefitting 1.27 million people. Installation of 750 water purification plants benefited 1.27 million people in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and
Maharashtra.”

Teresa said organisation’s development training centre had conducted around 222 training programmes and around 10,107 national participants and 1,200 international participants took part in the programmes.
