Hyderabad: South Central Railway General Manager Ravindra Gupta inaugurated Aadhaar enabled Bio-Metric attendance system (AEBAS) at Central Hospital, Lalaguda on Tuesday. Eight Bio-Metric attendance systems has been installed in view of employee welfare centric at the Central Hospital, Lalaguda which enables the doctors, para medical & support staff attending their day to day duties in time and attend to the patients without causing inconvenience.
Later, Ravindra Gupta inaugurated a 9 Colour Web Offset Printing Machine (to undertake in-house printing of Un-Reserved Tickets (UTS) & Passenger Reservation Ticket Rolls) at SCR’s General Printing Press, Secunderabad. The SCR Printing Press started functioning in 1966 with letter press technology had started using offset technology in 1981.
The introduction of sophisticated offset printing machine for production of Passenger Reservation System/Unreserved ticketing system tickets (PRS/UTS), the job of printing has become effective and faster . The Machine is capable of printing tickets with multi colour on both sides besides printing the same with high accuracy and reliability.
Existing system of procuring PRS/UTS tickets by Railways from outside printing is causing difficulties in availability of tickets besides errors in numbering. Ministry of Railways, therefore has decided to overcome these problems by switching over to the in-house printing through the new nine colour offset printing machine.
The newly inaugurated printing machine is designed to meet the requirements of East Coast Railway, South Western Railway and South East Central Railway. The machine is also capable of undertaking multi colour printing works on mass scale. The tickets going to be printed from now by the SCR Printing Press will carry the messages for social awareness on various public issues.
