Sharmishtha Shenoy is a Hyderabad-based writer, loves reading murder mysteries and the works of Satyajit Ray- especially the Feluda series. She wrote her first book, a crime fiction novel ‘Vikram Rana Investigates’, the kind that she herself likes to read, and launched it at Gallery Cafe on Wednesday.

“The novel deals with a thrilling account of murder, mystery and detection based in Hyderabad. It consists of two episodes - The Mysterious Affair of the Lohia Mansion; the glamorous socialite Richa Lohia is poisoned in her mansion at Jubilee Hills, her brother-in-law hires his mate, ex-cop Vikram Rana, to solve this murder, and the second episode is the ‘Sonia Sinha Case’,” shared Sharmishtha.

“This is my debut novel and the genre is challenging. Writing a detective novel is always difficult, because the challenges are different. It is also important to engage the readers till the end,” she added.

Bureaucrat Chandana Khan launched the book amidst book lovers and friends. “I hope I will write many more books in future. And I believe that everybody will love my book,” Sharmishta Shenoy stated before drawing the evening to a close.
