World Peace Council (WPC) conducted a meeting at its headquarters in Athens, Greece from May 27 to 28. Representatives from India, America, Cuba, Turkey, Portugal, South Africa, Nepal, Poland, Israel, Palestine, Syria, Cypress, Congo, among others participated in the conference.
Participating at the meet, Dr P Sudhakar, State Secretary, Communist Party of India, (CPI) and a member of All India Peace Committee, said, “WPC advocates universal disarmament, sovereignty and independence and peaceful co-existence, and campaigns against imperialism, weapons of mass destruction and all forms of discrimination.
It was founded in 1950, emerging from the policy of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union to promote peace campaigns around the world in order to oppose warmongering by the United States and other allied countries.”
“The warmonger countries are responsible for creating terrorism and wars, which makes other countries buy war equipment to safeguard their countries against unexpected attacks and wars, and they are allocating more budget for Military.
There is a need to end terrorism and war situations in the interest of the universal peace and harmony,” he added.
