Chinmayi Nrityalaya established by Sridevi Mungara, a senior disciple of distinguished guru Dr Sobha Naidu, presented a Kuchipudi recital by Chinmayi and others Shilparamam recently. Navya, Neha and Amrita rendered “Ganesha Pancharatnam” in a pleasant manner.

The dancers portrayed the various aspects of Ganesha as the son of Goddess Parvati. Set in Ragamalika these slokas of Adi Sankara praise the delightful elephant-God as the killer of demons, protector of Gods and refuge of his devotees.
Chinmayi who started learning at the tender age of four from her mother Sridevi presented Uttakad Venkata Subba Aiyers composition “Swagatham Krishna”.

Krishna on his return to Mathura from the slaying of Kamsa, is received by the gopis who praise him as the dancer on Kalinga, slayer of demons Chanura and Mushtika, protector of holy cows and his various avatara are described. He is not only the victorious hero but also the charmer who stole the heart of the gopis through his amorous overtures.

Chinmayi excelled in this item. “Vachenu Alamelu Manga” is an Annamacharya Keertana in Hindola describing the Goddess consort of Lord Venkateshwara and her feelings in the presence of the Lord. The tinkling of her anklets can be likened to the sweet sounds of parrots. She wears sparkling bangles and radiance glimmers from the twinkle in her eyes.

Chinmayi enthralled the audience while beautifully portraying the Nava Rasas -Shringara or delight, Hasya (laughter), Karuna (sorrow), Raudra (anger), Veera (heroism), Bhayanaka (fear), Bhibatsa (disgust), Adbhuta (wonder) and finally Shanta or peace. The program was done to recorded music.
