The National Institute of Tourism & Hospitality Management (NITHM), Hyderabad, in a view to celebrate World Tourism Day (WTD) conducted Inter College Competitions, to foster awareness among the international and local community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value. 387 students from 14 different colleges have participated in the competition.
Hyderabad: The National Institute of Tourism & Hospitality Management (NITHM), Hyderabad, in a view to celebrate World Tourism Day (WTD) conducted Inter College Competitions, to foster awareness among the international and local community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value. 387 students from 14 different colleges have participated in the competition.
Thirteen competitions conducted by the NITHM include:
1) Extempore (33 participants) - first prize: Sachit Bindra (Culinary Academy of India College) and second prize Pranav Mahadevan (NITHM-Hyderabad)
2) Quiz (52 participants) – first prize: Swapnadip Dutt & Bharat S (Culinary Academy of India College) and second prize: BG Suneet & Surya Kumar (NITHMHyderabad)
3) Photography (28 participants) - first prize: Rohit Ravuri (Regency College of Hotel Management) and second prize: Ajith (Culinary Academy of India College)
4) Short Film (04 participants) - first prize: Kushal Kejriwal (IHM-Hyderabad) and second prize: Mohammad Abdul Aalam (Regency College of Hotel Management)
5) Dance-Solo (21 participants) - first prize: Anuhya K. (NITHM) and second prize: Subha Jurendra (Culinary Academy of India College)
6) Dance-Group (08 groups) - first prize: Gokal & Group (Pinnacle Institute of Hotel Management) and second prize: Pratiksha & group (NITHM-Hyderabad)
7) Cake icing (10 teams) - first prize: Carleen M & M Sharavan Kumar (Culinary Academy of India College) and second prize: T Manrith & P Dhanush (Regency College of Hotel Management)
8) Food Tales (17 participants): first prize: Sachit Bindra (Culinary Academy of India College) and second prize: Srikiran (Pinnacle Institute of Hotel Management)
9) Flower Arrangement (14 teams): first prize: Sampat & Soundarya (Pinnacle Institute of Hotel Management) and second prize: Dheeraj & Nagaraj (Global Institute of Hotel Management)
10) Table Laying (17 participants): first prize: Indrani (Sri Shakti College of Hotel Management) and second prize: Ganesh (Westin College of Hotel Management.
11) Mehandi (13 participants): first prize: Ms. Anuha (Pinnacle Institute of Hotel Management) and second prize Swetha (NITHM-Hyderabad)
12) Rangoli (28 participants): first prize: Alekhya & Naseem ((Regency College of Hotel Management) and second prize: Mr Deepak and Prashanth (Trinity College of Hotel Management)
The evening ended with NITHM students dance performances and the prize winners were awarded on stage by Director of NITHM's; S Chinnam Reddy and the Guest of Honor Santosh Kumar, Manager MICE from Violet Event Mktg. (India) Pvt. Ltd. All staff of NITHM and students together put in their best efforts to bring the day to a successful close.
