Nizamabad: Official representative of the All-India Congress Committee (AICC) and former Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki on Friday hit out at the Telangana government for failing to honour the ruling party’s pre-election promise of getting the Nizam Sugar Factory (NSF) re-opened within 100 days of coming to power.

Addressing the party’s ‘maha padayatra’, in Bodhan constituency, led by former Minister Sudarshan Reddy to press the demand for re-opening NSF, Yashki accused the government of going back on its poll promises and assurances.

The former MP found fault with the State administration for laying off the NSF staff and shutting it despite the unit doing well in the past. While demanding the immediate resumption of the factory, he assured the workers that the party would stand by them.

‘The party is ready to fight along with other Opposition parties on behalf of the people for protecting their rights’, Yashki asserted.
