Luxettipet: In response to a story published in The Hans India recently, the education department officials swung into action. They on Thursday visited the government high school at Doudapalli and removed bushes and cleared heaps of garbage in the school premises.

Following the directions of Deputy DEO, Luxettipet Mandal Educational Officer Sattaiah and Doudapalli Sarpanch Padmavati Suraiah visited the school on the day and enquired about the basic amenities in the school.

Sattaiah called up Rajiv Vidya Mission (RVM) site in-charge and expressed his displeasure over the sorry state of urinals and toilets, constructed with RVM funds in the school. The site in-charge assured of repairing the urinals and toilets within four days.

Later, the sarpanch, MEO and others launched a Swachh Bharat drive clearing the garbage from the school premises.
The sarpanch said that she would submit proposals to higher ups to pull down the old school building that was in dilapidated condition and to build additional classrooms.

She said that she would strive to introduce English medium in the schools and also to increase student strength from the next academic year. Students’ union leaders, students and parents thanked the officials for their immediate response to redress their grievances.
