In a mid-term review meeting with officials of the engineering department, South Central Railway general manager Ravindra Gupta, while complementing the staff for maintaining the tracks in good a condition also urged them not to get complacent and take all precautions in maintenance of track in view of ensuing winter season here on Friday. 

In a mid-term review meeting with officials of the engineering department, South Central Railway general manager Ravindra Gupta, while complementing the staff for maintaining the tracks in good a condition also urged them not to get complacent and take all precautions in maintenance of track in view of ensuing winter season here on Friday.

He also instructed to carefully monitor rail fractures, weld failures etc and initiate measures immediately to rectify the problems. He suggested the engineers to incorporate crash barriers in the design of Road Over Bridges (RoB) as part of providing safety.

The need to provide good working conditions with essential equipment, proper uniform, retro reflective jackets etc., especially to the trackmen / gangmen and level crossing gatemen was felt.

He advised officials to take all precautions and monitor the flood situations on real time basis by properly coordinating with State Government departments.

He instructed the officials to ensure the supply of potable drinking water at the Railway stations and Railway colonies. He also emphasised on better management of Railway premises along with environmental protection.

The conference discussed various issues like safety of railway tracks, progress of various developmental works like elimination of Level Crossings, track renewals, bridge maintenance works, progress of Aadharsh stations etc., over the Zone.

A K Gupta, Additional General Manager, S N Singh, Principal Chief Engineer, South Central Railway were amongst the officials present.
