Nizamabad: The State government has allotted a staggering Rs.17,500 crore for expanding road construction and expansion works under the Roads & Buildings and Panchayat-raj departments.

This was stated by Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Thursday after laying the foundation for a four-line road from Janakampet to Basar via Navipet, costing Rs.50 crores.

The huge amount, Reddy pointed out, was in contrast to only Rs.800 crore spent by the previous governments. He said roads from village to district level would be widened for the benefit of the travelling public.

Later speaking to The Hans India, he said that the roads of the two departments were being expanded as the government believed in the construction and raod widening works and well laid road network for better connectivity and efficient movement of vehicles.

Bodhan MLA Mohammad Shakeel was among those present.
