District Collector RV Karnan directed all the BC and SC hostel wardens to arrange qualitative meal as per the approved menu to all the students, without any deviation.

Participating as chief guest, the Collector addressed a two-day workshop on ‘proper management of hostels’ here on Wednesday.
He said that the wardens must ensure the overall development of the students so that they are physically and mentally readied to face the competitive world with self-confidence.
Pre-matric hostels should be converted into post-matric hostels, wherever necessary, so as to accommodate students pursuing college education and slip tests should be conducted for the students every day in order to achieve the pass percentage target of 100 per cent, Karnan said.
The Collector advised the wardens to send lunch boxes for the students in case the hostel happens to be too far from the school.
Besides SC and BC hostel wardens, district BC development officer Khaja Nazeem Ali Afsar, district SC development officer Harshavardhan, ABCWO Raja Manohar Rao, Vivekananda College principal Tirupati, physician Srinivas participated in the programme.
