Oxford University Press India (OUPI) organised an interactive English Language Teaching (ELT) workshop for school teachers at Taj Deccan in Banjara Hills on Wednesday.

This was led by OUP author and educationist Nicholas Horsburgh, who introduced teachers to latest interactive methodologies for teaching English that would help them make learning more fun and engaging for children.

Nicholas emphasised on how learning could be a more delightful experience for students if teachers understood their thoughts and made them overcome inhibitions by engaging in classroom discussions.

He stressed on the need for teachers to continuously introduce new methodologies in teaching, so as to make learning more stimulating and pleasurable experience for children.

Speaking on OUP’s continued focus on teacher training workshops, Sivaramakrishnan V, Managing Director, Oxford University Press India said, “In our view, the teacher is the principal pivot in the learning eco-system.

This workshop enables us to foster a two-way communication with the teacher, helping us better understand their work environment, needs and challenges”

Over 70 teachers from prominent schools in Hyderabad and Secundrabad participated.
