Warangal (Urban): In a bid to ensure better management of revenue-related matters, the district administration has on Friday distributed tablet PCs to village revenue officers (VROs).

Speaking at a meeting, Warangal Urban District Collector Amrapali Kata directed the VROs to acquaint themselves with the tablets to update the revenue-related information.

“From here onwards, there is no need for the officials to depend on the data entry operators. Initially, the VROs may struggle, but once they get acquainted with it there would be no problem,” she said.

With the internet data facility available almost everywhere, the officials can use it on the spot to update the information. It not only saves the time of the officials but also convenient to the people, she said.

The Collector advised the officials to use the tablet on a trial basis for a week before jumping into real time work. The officials were also told to give feedback if they face any problem with the software besides giving suggestions if any for the betterment of service.

She said a training camp would be organised to the officials on how to upload the data regarding Aadhaar and mobile numbers of a pattadar.

Joint Collector S Dayanand stressed the need for expediting the seeding of Aadhaar numbers of farmers with their bank accounts. Later, E-District manager Sridhar explained the handling of tablets through a power point presentation.

In another development, the revenue officials presented a bouquet and a memento to Amrapali on the occasion of Civil Services Day on Friday.
