Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar directed the officials concerned to make necessary arrangements for Arogyasri mega health camp to be held on May 13, in the mandal headquarters of Kusumanchi here in Khammam.
The Collector chaired a review meeting with the officials concerned to discuss the arrangements to be made for organising the health camp here at Pragna Conference Hall in Khammam on Wednesday.
Addressing the officials, the Collector said the tests for cancer, elephantiasis and other diseases would be conducted in the health camp. Based on the diagnosis, patients would be given treatment at the hospitals that accept Arogyasri cards.
The Arogyasri Trust after conducting a survey in this region declared that more number of patients identified suffering from cancer and elephantiasis, the Collector said, adding that keeping in view of that free Arogyasri camp is being organised.
The Collector further ordered the officials to take steps for arranging required medicines to distribute for patients after conducting tests apart from arranging free transport for patients coming from distant places. He urged the people to utilise the opportunity by attending the camp.
District Medical and Health Officer Dr Kondal Rao, District Coordinator of Arogyasri Dr Srinivas, Chief Planning Officer of Zilla Parishad Marapaka Nagesh, District Malaria Officer Dr Rambabu, Dr Venkateshwar Rao and the District Education Officer Vijaylakshmi Bai were also present along with others.
