The last rites of slain TRS corporator Anisetti Murali were performed here on Friday, on his birthday. His family members and friends bade him a tearful adieu and large number of people took part in his funeral held at Komallakunta funeral grounds in Hanamkonda.

Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari, MLA E Dayakar Rao, Women Corporation chairperson G Sudharani, TDP leader Seetakka, several legislators and leaders of BJP visited MGM Hospital and paid their respects.
The body of the deceased corporator was taken to GWMC head office where Municipal Commissioner Shruti Ojha and the GWMC corporators paid homage to him. MLA D Vinay Bhasker, Mayor N Narender, his deputy Khaja Sirajuddin and others took part in the slain corporators’ funeral procession.
District Congress president N Rajender Reddy expressed his deep condolences to the family of the corporator. He wanted everyone to condemn the politics of murder.
Meanwhile, the city bandh called by the ruling party as a token of respect to the deceased corporator passed off peacefully on Friday. Shops, business establishments and educational institutions in the city remained closed as the public voluntarily took part in the bandh.
The doctors at MGM Hospital conducted post-mortem on Murali’s body. It was learnt that the slain corporator has suffered 16 stabbing injuries when he was attacked by his rivals with sickles at his residence on Thursday.
It might be noted that the main accused B Vikram Kumar and his associates Regula Chinranjeev and M Varun Babu surrendered to the police soon after the incident. They confessed to their crime during interrogation.
The police seized the weapons used in the incident and left at the incident spot by the assailants. They also obtained the CCTV footage and two-wheelers used by the accused persons.
MLA Vinay Bhaskar and Mayor Narender and others expressed shock at the killing of Murali and said the TRS party would extend all possible support to the bereaved family. He earned the peoples’ confidence and was elected twice to the Warangal Municipal Corporation as corporator, they noted.
