If you want a break from the routine hang out spots and cash in on value for money then, the Nehru Zoological park is the place to be. After all, nothing beats spending quality time under the aegis of nature.
The Nehru zoological park in the Old City is a fun den for youngsters, where amusement never ceases to exist. Many couples and friends were spotted at the zoo on Sunday celebrating friendship day. The park observes al- teast 8000-10000 visitors on Sundays and public holidays while about 6000 people visit the zoo on rest of the days.
‘’We are all working in different fields and with different companies. There is hardly any time to catch up with friends. So we chose to visit the zoo park, watch animals and also spend time with each other ‘’, says Priyanka who works in the corporate sector.
‘’We all stay in the same apartment but are busy studying in our respective colleges. So we planned to spend our friendship day in zoo park and enjoy its environs without necessarily watching the animals”, says Chandu, a designer who had come with his friends. Another group of youngsters studying class 12, who came to the zoo to hang out without any inhibitions, said they wanted a break from the boring hangout spots and get close to the nature, where they could do anything they wanted, without being hard on the pocket. The zoo is not just a favourite hang- out spot for friends and families.
Infact, it is also a preferred destination for love birds. Lovers say that they need not shell out a lot of money at the zoo and it also gives them the opportunity to spend some quality time with their partner in privacy, which is a priced commodity in the city. ‘’Mine is a love marriage and I don’t get enough time and space at home to spent some private time with my wife and express my affection. So we come to the zoo park secretly and live our private moments’’,says Santosh. The zoo park is the only spot in Old City where people can hang out, go for picnics with family, friends and beloveds.
