Visitors to the Nehru Zoological Park can now have guided tours on holidays and pick up maps and brouchers on the zoo. People can also buy caps, T-shirts and key chains said P Mallikarjuna Rao, Director Nehru Zoological Park at the inauguration of Zoo Information Centre on Thursday.
A history wing at the Natural History Museum was also opened on the occasion of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s birth anniversary. The director said, “Visitors can now get comprehensive information on the origin and growth of the zoo. It is very useful to the visitor to know about the information on the Nehru Zoological Park from the beginning from 1963 to 2013 .It reveals that the development of the zoo year by year.
” Earlier in the morning Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s statue was garlanded which was followed by speeches to mark Children’s Day. P Samuel, Asstant Conservator of Forests, P Ramesh, AC-1, Momin Ali, AC-3, Sridevi Saraswati, AC- 4 and PRO H M Hanifula and other staff members of the zoo attended the programme.
