New Born Week Celebrated, National New Born Week, National Neonatology Forum of India. On Sunday, the CEO of Lotus Children’s hospital Dr V S V Prasad elaborated on the several issues of new born babies, health care, community intervention and quality care.

The National New Born week was celebrated at Lotus Childrens’ Hospital in association with the National Neonatology Forum of India . National New born week is celebrated every year in the month of November (15 Nov to 21 Nov).
On Sunday, the CEO of Lotus Children’s hospital Dr V S V Prasad elaborated on the several issues of new born babies, health care, community intervention and quality care.
He said that the people should advise the pregnant women to go to a hospital for a safe delivery. Now a days in Villages pregnant women are being attended to by untrained people, in unhygienic conditions. Due to this the new born’s health is affected and in several cases babies are born dead. He also added that pregnant women should be encouraged to go to a recognised hospital only, the need for a specialist to take care of new born plays an important role in the growth of the baby. He also said that for every 1000 new born babies 40 are dying due to a lack of awareness in pregnant women about their care.
He also advised the mothers about the importance of breast feeding ,babies should be under the doctors supervision for seven days as this period is very crucial for the new born babies. Lotus hospital’s new born specialist doctors also delivered speeches on child care and also the interactive sessions were conducted for pregnant women and mothers of new born babies.
