‘Glimpses of Childhood’ a photo exhibition to commemorate UNICEF 25 years of Convention of Child Rights was inaugurated by well known Actor Rana Daggubati. The exhibition was curated by ‘Art for Causes’ (AFC), an organisation headed by Amita Talwar. It’s been 25 years since the United Nations’ General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child in the year 1989.The Convention has recognised that parents have the most important role in the bringing up children.

There are many important areas that the convention has touched upon to see that exploitation of a child is not done at the cost of freedom and education. No child shall be subjected to torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. Children should be protected from economic exploitation and from performing any work that is likely to be hazardous or to interfere with the child's education, or to be harmful to the child's health or physical, mental, spiritual, moral or social development.

Children should be protected from the illicit use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances as defined in the relevant international treaties, and not be used in the illicit production and trafficking of such substances. A child should be protected from all forms of sexual exploitation and sexual abuse. A child has the right to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts.

Speaking on the occasion Ruth Leano of UNICEF expressed happiness to be a part of the program to convey the message of the child rights through a photo exhibition. 25 photographs by Saurabh Chatterjee, Rajesh Pamnani, Aditi Talwar, Vinod Babu, Chandrasekhar Singh, and Amita Talwar were on display at the exhibition.
